New Year, New You: Earn Your APR in 2025
Jan. 23, 11 a.m. 
Participants will gain insights into the value of earning the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential, the process to obtain it, and the professional benefits it can bring.

Panelists include:

  • Thomasena Shaw, APR, professor of public relations at Bridgewater State University. Her research focuses on social justice and social activism, sustainability, and crisis management.

  • Lisa Bergson, APR, assistant professor of communication at Bridgewater State University. Her research interests include crisis communication, organizational reputation, climate communication and the scholarship of teaching and learning in public relations.

The webinar will be moderated by PRSA Greater Worcester Chapter’s president-elect, Cristal Steuer, APR. She is executive director of Strategy & Placement at TVP Communications, where she leads the development and execution of TVP’s media strategy, as well as spearheads its national and trade media relations outreach for its clients.

Holiday Mixer: Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. 

We’re kicking off the holiday season in style! Join us for our first-ever Holiday Mixer at Volturno in Worcester. It’s going to be an evening filled with great company, light bites, and a chance to toast to an incredible first year as an official chapter. 

PRxNE 2024 Conference

The Central New York Chapter of PRSA is honored to present PRxNE2024: PR at a Crossroads (Again), a one-day conference on Friday, November 15, designed for communications professionals at all stages in their careers and students in the PRSA Northeast District. The conference will take place in Syracuse, NY at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown. Join a group of 150+ communications professionals from seven states and eight chapters! The Northeast District boundaries extend west to Buffalo, east to Boston, and north to Bangor.

Annual Meeting

Our Annual Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2024, One Mercantile Center (100 Front Street), 19th Floor, Worcester. The meeting will feature an overview of the past year, an introduction of the 2025 board, and more. Networking and refreshments will be plentiful, as well as the opportunity to check out Venture X Worcester, our generous venue sponsor.

Training Your Ethical Mind: Preparing to Survive and Thrive in our Dynamic AI Environment

Join us for a 90-minute workshop where Mark McLennan, general manager of the Boston office of C+C and author of Ethical Voices: Practicing Public Relations with Integrity, will offer best practices for dealing with new ethical challenges of AI that PR professionals are likely to encounter. 

Pop-Up Networking Opportunity

Join the PRSA Greater Worcester Chapter Thursday, August 1, for a pop-up networking event during the Out to Lunch Festival and Farmers’ Market on the Worcester Common Oval. Bring your own lunch, and look for the PRSA Greater Worcester sign between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.!

First Summer Outing/Kick Off Event
Our summer outing is happening Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Polar Park in Worcester. 

Meet the board and fellow chapter members, learn about additional programming planned
for our inaugural year, enjoy dinner in the Triple Decker Garden and watch the WooSox
face off against the Rochester Red Wings at 6:45 p.m.
